BROOKLYN
A Brooklyn cricket player struck by lightning over the summer has been transferred to a rehabilitation clinic - the latest step in his extraordinary recovery, according to the Daily News.
Stephen Gibson, 41, is now being treated at the Coler-Goldwater Speciality Hospital and Nursing Facility on Roosevelt Island, a hospital rep said.
Gibson arrived at the sprawling 2,000-unit facility a few weeks ago after he regained some movement in his arms and legs. He also had recently begun speaking.
The unemployed electrician was playing in a cricket match in Marine Park July 26 when he was hit by a lightning bolt during a freak thunderstorm.
The lightning struck the left side of his face, causing his brain to bleed and damaging his lung, kidneys and liver.
