QUEENS
A Brooklyn schoolboy was savagely stabbed by a pal after a walk in a park escalated into a brutal fight, police said, according to the Daily News.
Bleeding from the neck and chest, 12-year-old Luis Martinez staggered out of Highland Park in Queens Saturday night and flagged down a motorist who made a desperate call for help, police said.
An ambulance rushed Martinez to Jamaica Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a punctured lung and kidney, his family said.
"He lost a lot of blood. They hit a vein in his neck," said his sister Angie Ortiz, 28. "He's going to be in there a while. We're hoping he'll make it through, but it's serious."
Relatives said Martinez left the family's East New York home earlier in the evening with a friend to go to the store and then did not return.
