A Brooklyn man accused of killing a scandal-tainted emergency medical technician was himself shot dead in Prospect Park, police said.
Julio Locarno, 23, was shot at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday on a walkway near Parade Place.
Police have not made an arrest or established a motive - but have not ruled out a link to the shooting of Jason Green, 32, the EMT killed last July during an argument over a parking space outside Greenhouse, a SoHo nightspot.
Locarno was charged with manslaughter in that case. The triggerman is still being sought.
In an email to the Daily News, a purported cousin said Locarno, who made bail last week, feared for his life because others accused him of being a snitch.
"He told my father he felt like he was being followed and watched since being released on bail," the email said.
Green and his EMT girlfriend, Melissa Jackson, made headlines in December 2009 when Eutisha Rennix, who was 6-months pregnant, collapsed during an asthma attack inside a downtown Brooklyn Au Bon Pain.
Green and Jackson were on a break at the bakery - and allegedly left without helping the 25-year-old Rennix, telling workers to call 911.
Rennix and her prematurely born baby both died. Jackson has been charged with official misconduct.
In February, Jackson, 23, was arrested for petty larceny at a Westbury Walmart for allegedly trying to steal $50 in cosmetics.
A trail of blood from the scene of the shooting leads to a storm drain.
