A 23-year-old woman walking her dog was pepper sprayed and robbed this morning in Inwood Hill Park, NYC Park Advocates has learned.
The victim passed a man sitting on a picnic bench near the basketball and tennis courts. Without warning the man approached her from behind and pepper sprayed her in the face and grabbed the small gold chain from her neck. He fled on foot into the park.
Law enforcement sources say no words were exchanged before the robbery.

The incident occurred at 6:45am as she headed towards the park exit near Isham Street and Seaman Avenue.
The perpetrator is described as a dark skinned male, possibly hispanic, 20-25 years-old, between 5'9-5'11 solid build wearing a black tank top and long basketball shorts.
