Police are investigating after a body was found on a Queens beach.
A passer-by discovered the body of an unidentified woman believed to be in her 40s in Far Rockaway yesterday, cops said., The grisly find was made at about 7:50 a.m. on Rockaway Beach near the Boardwalk and Beach 17th Street., The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said., Sources said there was no apparent sign of trauma and that it did not appear she had been in the water., The investigation is ongoing, cops said.New York Post - January 15, 2012 - By Rebecca Harshbarger
Officers were called to the shoreline near Beach 17th Street in Far Rockaway just before 8 a.m. Saturday.
When the officers arrived, they found a woman unconscious and unresponsive.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say it appears the woman was in her 40s.
There are no signs of trauma on her body, but the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
