"It's just reprehensible to hold events with music at 8 in the morning."
Brooklyn
People in Prospect Park say the Beastie Boys lyrics, 'No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn' describe their situation living near the city park on the weekends.
Residents say park party season is underway which means insomnia will soon set in, according to WPIX.
"Normally, they set up a band or a DJ and our apartments are directly across the street," said Jim Rallis, who cannot sleep on Saturdays and Sundays.
From April to November Rallis says it's unbearable, and they want help from local leaders to keep the noise down.
"It's just reprehensible to have events with music at 8 in the morning," said Rallis.
Rallis said he has repeatedly reached out to the Parks Department but has had no luck getting the revelers to turn down the music.
The parks department issues permits for certain events in the parks during the year.
"They tell me they don`t have the resources to monitor and enforce events yet they have ability to issue a permit," said Rallis.
PIX 11 reached out to local politicians and the parks department. The only person who returned our call was the office of public advocate, Bill Di Blasio.
He encouraged the angry residents to submit another complaint.
