Parks Worker Arrested For Exposing Himself To A Child

Manhattan/Brooklyn

By Geoffrey Croft

A Brooklyn outreach coordinator at the Parks Department's Partnership For Parks was arrested early this morning for sexual involvement with a child.

The NYPD arrested 35-year-old Kaceen Jordan this morning on Madison Ave outside Marcus Garvey Park in Manhattan at East 123rd Street at approximately 7:14 am after he allegedly exposed himself to a minor. Jordan was charged with Unlawful Dealing with Child, Act in Manner Injurious to Child, and Public Lewdness.

The victim is a 15-year-old black male according to a source. The incident occurred in a parked car with a teen he may have met earlier this morning in the park. A witness apparently saw the act and reported it to the police.

Sex-for-hire in the upper level of Marcus Garvey Park is not uncommon.

Jordan makes $ 47,000 a year and is responsible for park districts 5, 6, 7, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18 which includes Coney Island. He was not on duty at the time of the alleged incident. The city says Jordan has been suspended without pay.

Kaceen lives in Bedford-Stuyvesant and has a 9-year old daughter. He began with Partnership For Parks in 2004 where he helps organizes private parks groups including cleanups and special events.

On May 7, 2009 Jordan was the recipient of the Friends of Kaiser Park Community Service Award. Kaceen is a member of the Kingsborough College Liberty Partnership Youth Council.

A call to the Partnership For Parks was not returned.
