A man was found dead in a Queens park Saturday, officials said.
A 42-year-old man was fatally shot at a Queens park Saturday, authorities said, according to an article in the New York Post.
William Klinger, was spotted inside Astoria Park, which abuts the East River, at about 2:30 p.m. as a deep freeze chilled the city. He was found lying near the park’s public pool and had been shot in the head, cops said.
Paramedics rushed Klinger to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died of his wound. A motive for the killing wasn’t immediately revealed, but it did not appear that Klinger was robbed, police told neighbors stunned by the bloodshed.
This is terrible, ” said Michael Peters, 58, who enjoys walking his dogs through the park.
“I worked in Astoria my whole life, and this park got so nice.”
Klinger’s address was not available and his killer was still at large late Saturday.
