Body Found In Calvert Vaux Park Washed Up On the Shore

A park patron walking along on the shore found a decomposed body this evening washed up on the beach in Calvert Vaux Park (Drier Offerman Park) near Bay 44th Street and the Shore Parkway. 

According to the police it was a male.  

Authorities do not know the age or the cause of death due to its decomposed state. 

The Medical Examiner removed the body and will determine the cause of death.

The body of a young burnt naked female was found in Marine Park in Gerritsen Beach this morning. 

The body, believed to be of a black female according to the police, was found in the sand in the nature preserve off of Gerritsen &  Lois Avenues. 

A 911 call was placed at 7:15am. 

At this time authorities do not yet know the identify of the person or how long the body had  been there. Police say the body had not yet decomposed.

The body of a 63-year-old woman was found early this morning in the lake at Kissena Park.

The body was discovered in the water at 7:45am near 164th St. west of Metcalf Avenue by a park patron according to the police.

She was unconscious when police arrived. EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

No criminality is suspected at this time according to the police.  

The woman may have slipped while out for a morning walk. 

Body Found In Playground 90 - Queens

The body of a male between the ages of 25-30 was found early Thursday morning in Playground 90, NYC Park Advocates has learned.

The body was discovered face down near the play equipment by a woman walking her kids to school. The woman called police. 

The man was pronounced DOA at the scene according to law enforcement sources.

The woman said the man was dressed normally. 

The playground - located between 89/90th Sts. btw. Northern Boulevard and 32nd Ave within the confines of the 115th Pct  - was closed while authorities investigated.  It re-opened early afternoon after it was cleaned.

The office of the Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause of death.

Decomposed Body Found In Cunningham Park

A badly decomposed body was discovered in Cunningham Park at 5:00pm Friday evening near 73rd Street and Francis Lewis Blvd.

Police describe the body as a male Asian in his 30's and say no criminality is suspected at this time.

The man was found to have a shoe lace around his neck in what appears to be a suicide according to a law enforcement source.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause of death.

Firefighters responding to a park fire in Queens Saturday discovered a dead body, according to WABC News.

They arrived on the scene following a 911 call of a rubbish fire along the southern tier of Forest Park.

The firefighters discovered that the burning trash was actually a man's body that had been set on fire.

The body was found just north of Park Lane South and 86th Street in the Woodhaven section of Queens.

EMS responded and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is still no word on the man's identity or the cause of death. An autopsy will be performed on Sunday.

Investigators spent the day searching the woods for clues.

Sources tell Eyewitness News an accelerant may have been used to set the fire.

Woman's Body Found On Far Rockaway Beach

Police are investigating after a body was found on a Queens beach.

Officers were called to the shoreline near Beach 17th Street in Far Rockaway just before 8 a.m. Saturday.

When the officers arrived, they found a woman unconscious and unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say it appears the woman was in her 40s.

There are no signs of trauma on her body, but the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Body Found In McCarren Park

Two unconscious males were found on a bench this afternoon in McCarren Park (Nassau & Bedford Aves.) at approximatly 2:00 P.M. One of the individuals regained consciousness upon the arrival of EMS. Woman Found Dead In Union Square Park

EMS responded to Union Square Park (E. 16th & Union Sq. West) yesterday at approx. 11:00A.M. for a female (35-40 years old) who suffered from a fatal drug overdose. The woman was found on the floor next to a bench that she had fallen off of. She was transported to Bellevue Hospital. The woman reportedly had a 6-year old daughter who was not at the scene.

Five days earlier, on March 15, a 41-year old male was found unconscious in the Park a few benches away from a drug overdose. He was transported unconscious but breathing by EMS to Beth Israel Hospital.

"The place is infested with drug users," said a Park employee. NYPD has stepped up their presence since the woman was found according to a source.— Geoffrey Croft

Body Found Off Of World's Fair Marina

A dead body was found in the waters off pier 1 at the World's Fair Marina on Sunday, July 18, according to The Queens Courier.

Upon their arrival, police discovered an unidentified male Hispanic, wearing a blue button down shirt, khaki pants and work boots, floating in the water. The NYPD Harbor Unit responded and pulled the man out of the water. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. The medical examiner will determine cause of death.

Man Found Hanged In Riverdale Park

BRONX

A Bronx man was found hanged in Riverdale Park Saturday afternoon after he sent a text message to his family saying he was going to kill himself, police said yesterday, according to the New York Post

The 26-year-old man, whose name is being withheld, sent the disturbing message to family and friends at 3:58 p.m. Saturday, stating he was going to hang himself in the park near West 240th Street and Riverdale Avenue.

Police later found his body hanging from a tree near that location.

Sources said the man had been depressed over debts.

Two Dead Bodies Found In Rockaway Park

QUEENS

Police responding to an anonymous call at about 6 a.m. yesterday discovered the body of a nude man in his 30s on the beach near Beach 93rd Street in Rockaway Park, according to the New York Post. While searching under the boardwalk for his clothes, they found another body, this one a man in his 40's.

There were no apparent signs of foul play.

Body discovered in Ocean Breeze, feet from boardwalk

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police are investigating in Ocean Breeze, where a body was discovered in a wooded area just feet from the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Boardwalk.

The gruesome discovery was made by kids playing in the area around 5 p.m., sources on the scene said.
