A city Parks Department engineer who designed children’s playgrounds fatally stabbed himself in his office at Silver Lake Park on Staten Island — and his shocked son found his body, sources said today, according to the New York Post.
George Erickson, 62, who helped plan Lemon Creek Park in the borough’s Pleasant Plains section, was supposed to have attended a play with relatives last night, one source said.

The source said the son and co-worker then found Erickson’s body on the floor amid scattered blueprints.
