A pregnant woman died and three other people were injured after their car skidded off the road and plunged into shallow waters in Jamaica Bay, authorities said, according to the New York Post.

The woman, identified as 25-year-old Rockaway resident Dominique Jamison, was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital, authorities said.
Sources said a female driver — who was among the injured — was taken into custody amid suspicions she had been driving drunk.
Police are seeking two others who were believed to be in the car but left before cops arrived.
Fire department divers and rescuers pulled the four crash victims from the shallow but frigid marshland area after the Ford model car careened off the road on Rockaway Boulevard, near Brookville Boulevard, around 4:30 a.m. today, according to the FDNY.
The three survivors and six firefighters were taken to Jamaica Hospital and treated for hypothermia and other minor injuries, authorities said.
The car sank into water that is just four-feet-deep but that was freezing cold, firefighters said.
